Bio of the ones behind the music

Matt Corken Vocals and Guitar

Matthew James Corken was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. At age five, Matt was given an acoustic guitar and a chord chart from his mom, Lori, who is also a musician. From there he learned by listening to other players and playing with different people. Listening to guitar players like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Beck, and Trey Anastasio Matt developed a unique mix of their different styles. On the other hand songwriters like Paul Simon, John Mayer, Matt Wertz, and Dave Barnes have influenced him to perfect his art as a songwriter. The first band Matt was a full time member of was a piano rock band called the Urban Rednecks, which he played with while attending North Central High School in Indianapolis. This band later transformed into the Working Hour, whom he also played with for some time before meeting Abe and Blain. After meeting them, Matthew decided that forming the Post Script was the path wanted to follow as a musician and songwriter. When Matt isn't playing music he enjoys golfing, and taking naps as often as possible.

Abe Shanehsaz Drums

Abe began his musical career in the back seat of his parents’ car pretending to sing opera to make them laugh. From there, the piano caught his ear. After four years of piano lessons, he found his third and greatest passion; rhythm. After being asked to join a band before ever owning a drum set or knowing how to play at all, Abe was quickly consumed by the instrument. Spending three hours every afternoon after school playing along with some of the greatest recordings of all time, Abe quickly developed a unique playing style that was truly his own. As he continued to learn how to work with other players and develop and move through musical styles, he met his counterpart Blain Crawford. Inspired by Blain’s genuine love for music and dedication to practice, the two began working towards becoming a groove unit that couldn’t be shaken. Since then, Abe has come full circle and come back to playing the piano and singing to write songs of his own, and use them to add his own character to the sound that The Post Script has developed.

Blain Crawford Vocals and Bass Guitar

Blain got his start playing bass at the age of 14. He spent his first couple of years as a bassist learning as many songs as he could and jamming with friends around his home town of Tipton, IN. At the age of 16 he started his first all original band, Killer Thomas. It was during this band that he began finding his own voice as a bassist. Soon after, Blain started taking lessons from the greats in his hometown area in northern Indiana. Though he only took lessons for a short time, they changed everything. This was his first introduction to jazz and an entirely new way of looking at the bass. His new outlook on music demanded a new outlet for his playing. Blain was soon approached by the band Three Piece Suit, a pop rock band out of Noblesville, IN, with a bass playing position open. The drummer for this band was none other than Abe Shanehsaz, the future drummer of The Post Script. The two and a half years Blain spent in Three Piece Suit took his playing to an entirely new level of creativity and maturity. After that band, Blain and Abe met Matt and the rest is still being written. . .
